Boat Insurance - Find the Best Low Rate Policy - Find Great Coverage

By Bryan Burbank

If you own a boat it may be one of the largest purchases you have ever made, therefore it should be adequately protected. If you own a boat and have an accident then you will be responsible to pay for your own repairs as well as any damage you may do to any other boat. This is the reason you need to have boat insurance. Boat insurance operates in a very similar manner to any vehicle insurance you may have.

The fear of having your boat vandalized or stolen is very prevalent in todays society. If you do not have the proper insurance coverage that can cause you a lot of unnecessary grief and this is the reason to have a good policy with adequate coverage. Insurance for your boat may not be cheap, but if you own a boat you must factor the cost of insurance into your monthly boat expense.

To find good insurance I recommend that you work with an agent that you trust and that is also familiar in writing coverage for a boat. If you do not have an agent you can look on the Internet but be careful and don't choose the first coverage that you find. Get multiple quotations on rates and check very carefully the deductions and exclusions. Remember that the cheapest policy you find is not always going to be your best choice because you want the right coverage.

Do keep in mind when signing up for insurance to be honest about the condition of your boat and its value because if you lie about these facts the insurance company upon inspection will realize that your boat is not worth as much as you said and they may not want to insure you or if they do you may get overcharged.

Owning a boat can be a lot of fun so just make sure that you have adequate coverage to protect yourself against any unforeseen disaster with your boat.

Tips On seadoo bombardier

If the Jetsons owned a yacht, it would probably look a lot like the Maltese Falcon. The prized possession of Silicon Valley venture capitalist Tom Perkins, the Maltese Falcon is like a sailing computer, equipped with fiber-optic networks, microprocessors and touch screens that have converted the brain and muscle of sailing into a computerized control panel. Now, the only manpower required to hoist and lower its 26,000 square feet of sails is a touch of a button. Likewise, the football-field-sized yacht completed in spring of 2006 is the most expensive and technologically advanced of its kind today. With a price tag hovering around $130 million, the Maltese Falcon navigates more like a video game than a 1,367-ton boat. But Perkins isn't stopping there. He's working on a sports submarine to house on the Maltese Falcon in case he ever wants to play with some whales or manatees deep in the ocean. Think of it as his version of a jet ski.

Most jet boats look and perform like bowriders with spacious seating in front and back and a swim platform. Builders promote a propulsion system almost completely enclosed inside the hull, reducing the risk of damage from impact with obstacles or the bottom. They are fast, maneuverable, offering an exciting ride and a fun tubing platform.

Yacht "No Komis" Epirb Activated - Indonesia

Thu, 6 Dec 2007 10:43:49 +0200
We just got this message from a friend's wife. Her husband's EPIRB (Yacht NO KOMIS) went off and he dropped off the nets and e-mail. The local SAR does not seem to have many assets/capabilities. We don't know Indonesia very well, anyone have any suggestions as to any other actions she should take?

"Great to hear from you and get the photos. Life is stressful for me right now. Terry and his yacht "No Komis" are the subject of a search by Search & Rescue, Indonesia. The EPIRB went off last Saturday afternoon, transmitted for about 25 hours and stopped. There has been no Sailmail since Nov 28. Terry was leaving the next day for a brief overnight passage of 100nm. This could be a series of events, none serious, but then again, who knows. Any one thing is no problem, but putting them together does make you wonder what has happened. ......"

BT Leading Way Toward Ice Gate

The capricious Saint Helena High Pressure System had considerably reduced tactical options for the frontrunners during the past 8 days, and predicting the fleet's movements from one position update to the next was a full-time job. On the water, it took determination and confidence in these troubled times, and in ...
